Extreme Makeover Home Edition is coming to Oklahoma City, OK!

Author: Terra  //  Category: Real Estate

I can’t believe it, but one of my very favorite TV shows is coming to the Oklahoma City area for an upcoming episode. Yes, EXTREME  MAKEOVER HOME EDITION will be in town Feburuary 1st, 2010. ABC television and Ideal Homes are teaming up to change the life of a deserving family. Ty Pennington, his crew and Ideal homes will be building the unannounced family a new home.  They will start with Ty’s famous door knocking, then the location of the demolition site and new home will be announced.  We are extremely excited for OKC to have this opportunity.

Go to www.IdealExtremeHome.com if you would like to volunteer for this project. There are plenty of jobs for everyone and anyone, no matter if you can commit for an hour or for the whole 106 hours of the project. Please spread the word to everyone that they need tons of help. What a wonderful way to serve our community!

Form for $6500/$8000 tax credit

Author: Terra  //  Category: Real Estate

If you were a first time home buyer that purchased a home last year, make sure you claim your tax credit, and if you have not, then go to the link below and run off the IRS FORM 5405.   Please also keep in mind that the rules on the latest Tax Credit changed up a lot so if you were a current homeowner and owned a home as a principal residence consecutively for 5 of the previous 8 years and purchased a new principal residence between November 7th, 2009 and until June 30, 2010 then you can also qualify for as much as a $6500.00 tax credit. You would also need the IRS 5405 form for the $6500 tax credit. Go to http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f5405.pdf and download the form.

(Please consult your tax professional about the tax credit. In no way are we giving financial advice.)

Oak Hollow Christmas Party!

Author: Terra  //  Category: Real Estate

A few weekends ago we had a Christmas party for the home owners in Oak Hollow at the home of Sue Green, my grandmother and Kim’s mother.  She so graciously let us use her home to bring everyone together out of the cold to enjoy the company and treats. We had a great turn out, almost 40 people attended.  We had dips, cookies, candies and many more goodies all specially prepared by Kim and myself.  What a great way to end the year with precious neighbors and friends!

Mega Camp catch up…

I know we went to Mega Camp in August, but I never blogged about our trip. I wanted to share a few things from it and definitely wanted to share this “Thumbs Up” picture of Mo Anderson, Kim, and myself!

More than 6,000 real estate professionals came to Austin, Texas for “Light the Fire Within!” Keller Williams Mega Camp! It was the 14th Annual Keller Williams Realty Mega Camp for top agents in the company.

Multiple inspirational speakers spoke about problems in their lives and how to overcome them in perspective.  We were taught more and more about lead generation and how important it is to network and call your sphere on a regular basis.  And in today’s market, online social networking is very important. And to kick off our new and improved prospecting Kim and I decided to take a course with Keller Williams called BOLD.

Mega Agent Camp reinforced real estate business basics and reminded us to follow the steps in the Millionaire Real Estate Agent book written by Gary Keller.  Then, Mrs. Mo Anderson reminded us of the KW culture and how to be true Christian Realtors in a busy world. Wow! It was amazing and very uplifting.  On our way to the airport, Kim and I ran into Mo,  and got to speak with her one on one!

Oklahoma- one of the top recession proof cities again

Oklahoma’s 2009 real estate sales help us prove that Oklahoma is one of the top recession proof cities.  Home sales overall were a little lower than sales last year during the fourth quarter, but that does not mean that it is not a great time to buy or sale. When the final home sale totals come out, I will post them.  Right now, with the low interest rates, lower home prices, and the amount of homes on the market, it could not be a better time to buy or even move up. Plus, there are still buyers out there looking!  Rates are around 5% depending on what type of loan you choose, points, and your credit score.  Home prices are slightly lower from 2008, but there is still a great selection of homes on the market. Call me if you have questions!

This brings us into 2010! I can not believe it. 2009 went by so fast. Do you have your goals set for 2010? I am working on mine, but they are not finished yet. Here’s wishing everyone a safe and prosperous 2010!
